                          What is Hypnosis?

"Hypnosis is the ability to convince yourself of anything." C. Devin Hastings

Hypnosis really isn't anything mysterious or magical.  We go in and out of hypnosis everyday- when we wake up, as we fall asleep, when we're daydreaming,  or when we're reading a good book or watching a movie.

Have you ever driven somewhere, and when you arrived at your destination, you had no idea how you got there?  That's highway hypnosis.

Hypnosis is simply a relaxed state where you have the ability to access your subconscious mind.

You have the ability to change a thought, to change your life!

                          Frequently Asked Questions

"Do I have control over my mind?"

Yes, with hypnosis, you actually have complete control over your mind and body.  And in hypnosis, you will not accept any suggestion that is against your moral code.

"I've seen stage shows, will you make me cluck like a chicken?"

Only if you want me to.  Stage shows work with volunteers who expect to do silly things, like cluck like a chicken.

"Someone tried to hypnotize me before, and I don't think it worked because I remember everything and I could hear everything.  Was I hypnotized?"

You could have been.  When you are in trance, you are actually completely aware of your surroundings and you do remember what happens, either in your conscious mind, or in your subconscious mind.

"I've heard that hypnosis can be dangerous.  Is that true?"

No, hypnosis has never been proven in a court of law to be dangerous.  In fact, there have been many studies proving hypnosis to be safe and very beneficial.  Actually, everyone goes in and out of hypnotic states everyday- as you wake up, as you fall asleep, watching TV, reading a good book or watching a movie.  Hypnosis has been approved for use by the American Medical Association (1958), British Medical Association (1955), American Psychological Association (1960) and the Vatican (1956).

"What if I can't wake up?"

Since you are in complete control of your mind and body, you will always be able to wake up.  Some find trance so relaxing and welcoming that they want to stay a little longer.  That's fine.  I'll be there when you wake up, and then I can teach you how to reach that state anytime you want with self-hypnosis.

"What can hypnosis be used for?"
